Michael Kasser Professor of Chemical Engineering, from 2006–present.〔 〕 She has invented over 15 patented designs. She has developed a hydrophobic surface that can be applied in energy harvesting. ==Academic life== Karen Gleason received her S.B. and S.M. in Chemical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982. She earned her Ph.D in Chemical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley on 1987.〔 During her time as a graduate student, she helped develop the Klincewicz method.
